LouisBerk.com takes your data privacy seriously and has always complied with the existing Data Protection laws of the UK and is complying with the GDPR regulations which came into place in May 2018.

In the course of making an enquiry, or purchasing a product we have collected your name, email address and in cases of a purchase your location for sending books and products. This information is stored in a secure database within our online ordering system and in a password protected contact application on a local computer in our premises.

C. What we do with your data.

We only use your data for contact purposes, for statutory accounting purposes and for providing details to our payment processor, Paypal, to complete purchases. We do NOT:

  • Have any access to the financial information input to Paypal;
  • Share your data with any other organisation, nor do we ever intend to do so;
  • Keep your data if you have expressly asked us to delete it.

D. Your rights.

If we contact you for marketing purposes we always ask if you wish to continue to receive our information and if you ask to be removed we remove your contact information from our contact system.

You have the right at any time to contact LouisBerk.com and request that your personal information be removed.

For accounting purposes the record of your purchase will continue to be stored. After the accounting year these are archived and stored securely but are kept in accordance with statutory accounting requirements.

LouisBerk.com links to Smugmug for purposes of allowing you to purchase photographs and to Paypal for the purchase of books. In the future LouisBerk.com may offer links to other websites, as well.

When you leave LouisBerk.com to visit these websites any data you submit at those websites is under the privacy policy of those website and not LouisBerk.com.

Many of my customers know that I am a ‘one person business’, as the name suggests and you can contact me directly. I am able to respond to your concerns rapidly (compared to larger companies who use impersonal call centres where you actually have little opportunity to contact the person in charge!).
